    Google Docs help?

Discussion in 'Writing Software and Hardware' started by Stormsong07, Mar 30, 2022.

Writing in Google Docs as I always have, and, I don't know if it's bc I'm on a crappier monitor than what I'm used to but the words are so faint it's hard to read them. I've tried playing with the brightness and contrast settings but no good. I'm currently writing in all bold but it's bugging me, lol. Anyone else had this issue and know how to resolve it? Tried Googling it but it wasn't very helpful.

You probably already tried this, but the first thing that comes to mind is enlarge the page a few clicks. I don't know if that would help with faint letters though. Are you sure you didn't accidentally set the font color to grey rather than black?

Question—are you able to read your own signature here on this site? If so then things must be really faint on Google Docs.

It's just a touch more visible on Docs than our signatures here. I dunno, I guess it's not terrible, but I have bad eyesight and it's bugging me.

This seems more like a font type and possibly color issue. Does Google docs default to pure black or does it allow shades of gray and other colors? If so, perhaps your font color isn't dark enough.

Does Google docs also have options for the background fill? Is it always pure white? I'm just making suggestions, I've used Google docs but never played around with the options.

Could maybe also be your refresh rate. Would that may make a difference? Not sure.

As someone who plays with Google Docs a lot, I'm proud to say they do have options for background fill. I use it while editing because I find editing on a pure white page gets straining on the eyes. If you go into the page setup option you can change the page color to whatever you want. It also allows you to change font color but I'm pretty sure it defaults to pure black...
