For years I have wanted to write a script with more than one double cross in it. Sort of like Double Indeminity which was later adapted into Body Double, or Body Heat. But I want more than one double cross without it being gimicky. I always watch similiar stuff before attempting it. Can you think of any movies (they were probably adapted from novels) with more than 2 double crosses? I really liked Body Heat.
Not a movie, but Zuko’s character arc in the original three seasons of Avatar: the Last Airbender was a little like that. Spoiler he betrayed the empire as the blue spirit, went to the good side in season 2, then double crossed his uncle and went back to his father, then double crossed his father in season 3, then finished with an “attack by ally” at the end of series.
