    People Watching

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by 444four444, Sep 9, 2010.

Has anyone ever just went people watching? I want to do this sometime and paint a picture through writing of select individuals. I think it would be good descriptive practice and everyone you write about could be a potential character. :)

Yes, it has been discussed here often. Browse some of the threads in this section, and I'm sure you'll find it mentioned often.

You might like the movie "Following", by Christopher Nolan.

I people watch all the time. It's good for getting characters, and sparking a story. Also, I'm just a nosey person. :p
But like Cogito said, I think this has been discussed in other threads before.

I take notes in bars, just for this purpose. =)
Bars have great characters, rich in weirdness.

Yes, they do. Unfortunately, I am a recovering alcoholic, and bars probably aren't the best place for me.

But who knows? I might have actually been one of those "great characters, rich in weirdness" that you observed!
