An idea for a story I’ve been kicking around for years has the main character attempt to retake his throne from a treacherous uncle. It starts with three of his siblings still alive, after his uncle murders the mc’s father and older brother, but gradually he loses the rest of his family and allies. He succeeds in his attempt to retake the throne, but realizes that he lost everything in his relentless pursuit of justice. Thoughts?
