    Getting a one-off book made?

Discussion in 'Print on Demand' started by nelly, Jan 27, 2010.

Hi, i'm new to the forum and i'm hoping someone here can help me out...

I'm looking for a gift voucher (or similar) to give to a good friend to publish their own book as a birthday present. It's not really to sell to others but just to get a one-off copy of a story they've written made.

Does anyone know any websites or companies that do this?

I'll be the happiest person alive if anyone could help me out :)

Do a search of POD publishers (Print On Demand). They will offer the cheapest way to produce a single book or very small quantity. After you find a few POD company names that seem to fit your needs, then cross-reference them with Predators and Editors to make sure they are not rip-off artists.

POD companies make a lot of money by selling ancillary services like "editing", graphic design for covers and shipping/handling costs. If you decide to do this favor for someone, you might want to guide him or her through the process so they don't end up getting suckered into spending another $500 - $1000 by slick talking "advisors".
