Greetings comrades of writing souls, First of all forgive me for my -most of the time- horrible English and writing skills. But that's why I'm here, right? To improve things. Do you know the feeling of having to write THAT story down? The one that just doesn't leave you alone until you do. The one that you think you were meant to write. Thinking that you've gone crazy, because you're pretty sure that you saw a sign from your personal guide the other day. Your reaction sounding doubtful, "Are you serious? Is this what I am supposed to do? Writing a novel? About that? It doesn't even sound like me..." but you listen to the advice anyway. So this is me listening to advice, trying to fulfil my 'destiny' to the best of my abilities. So here I am.
There is one theme that is forever nagging me, but I don't suffer any of the 'Are you serious?' doubts that you describe. Nor do I read anything too deep into why I want to write this particular novel. I think it's simply a case of it being a theme that appeals... it's the 'Write what you would like to read' way of thinking.
Welcome to the forum. We're all here to improve, I daresay. It's a continuous process; writing, and especially learning to write well enough to sell. Here's our New Member Quick Start to get you properly started. Hope to see you around! -Kat
I've at least three novels that just won't leave my head. I'm now in the process of writing them out. The best part about this is that while I'm writing them out, I discover whether or not I really wanted to write them at all. Our brains get this idea and if it thinks it's cool enough, it'll nag you constantly until you do something about it (ie, writing it). Only with that you'll begin to see if the idea was good or not.
