I've seen some pretty interesting profile pictures around the site lately, so I have decided to create a thread about them. So, explain your profile picture, any meaning it might have, and why you chose it. Mine doesn't have a terrible amount of meaning. I spent a semester doing historical research on sheep and textiles in the 18th century. The picture is from my research report. I work at a living history museum that is interested in acquiring sheep in the near future.
My picture displays that I am clearly a human, as can be seen from my glorious moustache. Truly no bear could have such a moustache, as such, any accusations that I am a bear, which are totally false mind you, are rendered entirely ridiculous.
<~~ a drawing of slenderman I found somewhere. Not particularly into slenderman but liked the drawing.
Inside Out hadn't come out yet when I joined, but I was very excited and was using the emotions for profile pictures everywhere.
I've always liked squirrels. When I moved to SoCal, I found that our house was surrounded by families of squirrels. My roomie and I loved having them around. I just chose a pic of a well-dressed squirrel, and I like it. And it stuck.
<---------- My eyes. I don't know why. I have a thing about eyes, and I think this particular picture makes them look nice. So, they're me - but only my eyes. Because I is mysterious.
Its a Kitsune smoking some good old Japanese trees. I like pranksters of all kinds but mythological ones are always interesting. However.....I do have a bad habit of changing my picture. >_>
Sri Ganapathi, beloved child of Shiva and Parvati. His father, Shiva, in the form of Nataraj, wipes the slate clean and Ganesh, Devine Remover of Obstacles, Lord of Scribes, Vessel of Wisdom, blesses the new beginning. Om Sri Ganeshaya Namaha! I sometimes trade him out for a fusion of Ganesh with the Scrivener logo, which, since Ganesh is the Lord of Scribes, seems only fitting.
It's a commissioned painting (pencil and water color) of an RPG character (Wilbur the Axeman) from a couple decades back.
I wrote a story when I lived in New Mexico with my asshole brother. I wanted to write a story and my brother said, "Sarcophagi. Just keep that in mind. Sarcophagi." So I pulled The Aircraft Man out of my ass like I was Rosalyn Carter and thought I was the most brilliant writer to ever exist. Boy, was I mistaken.
When I saw this I had to look to see what my picture was. I just thought it was a nice little trick image to mess with people.
Was writing a space adventuring story staring my wife and I for her. I illustrated it cartoon style, and I liked this drawing of me.
Sam Vimes of the City Watch, Duke of Ankh Morpork. One of my favourite characters from the most impactful series of books i've written. He's a role model to me, and generally a cool guy
My avatar is Rik Mayall, a comedy hero of mine. I change it every couple of months to keep things fresh, and because Rik had many faces... so to speak. I don't like showing my true face online.
