Faith in mankind has been restored.

confusing story but hang in there...

Today my bf was at work and got a phone call from this guy he hated. Let say this guys name was Gary. My bf had not seen Gary in approximately 4 years. The last time he had seen him was after Gary had given him a faulty motor(my bf bought it for a lot of money) to put in his car. The motor blew up and my bf confronted Gary and after a lot of heacaches got a cheap motor to replace the one that was faulty. We were not satisfied but there was not a lot we could do. Now a days, my bf is a very busy guy because he runs his own company. Gary called him this morning and wanted to meet up with him. My bf declined thinking it was about work and just didn't have the time for this deadbeat. Gary talked him into stopping by his house to talk.
My bf stopped by his house a few hours later and Gary apologized for tricking him with the faulty motor 4 years ago, and said he had done many wrongs in his life and decided to fix as many as possible. He gave my bf 300 dollars and said he hoped he would be forgiven.

I could not believe it. This guy used to be the biggest sleeze bag and now he is righting his wrongs so many years later. I guess there is hope for mankind after-all.

well, it just goes to show that people do feel sorry for the bad things they do. i am glad he apologised. plus, it makes people feel goos when someone apologises to them. :)

It at least makes you believe in the possibility of redemption. Most scum remain scum as long as they draw breath. But every once in a while, one will surprise you by turning a new leaf.

It's also a good foundation for a story; in fact, redemption is one of the great themes.

i disagree with that Cog. sometimes all they need is for someone to not expect them to be scum and to put a little effort in with them and they can make things better. show them the error of their ways, or make them see it, and they may change. people need our help.

I guess I've experienced fouler scum than you have. I hope you are right.

Luckily there is just enough light being shone through the dark clouds of egotism to allow hope to grow.

Let's hope it stays like that.
