Favorite quote from your main character

That's Eros for you, leaping from the shadows to slap a villain in the face with his trusty Royal Rod. He's like King Arthur, the porn parody version.

It's during the falling out between my two main characters, and Nadette is responding to a cruel jab flung in a passionate fit of anger & frustration meant to hurt her.

 

Dayuuuuuum, that is cold. I like your main character already.

I am rather fond of her, although I'm also pretty partial to whom she's retorting. Both are rather good at quips and poignant remarks, which is why they're a lot of fun to have dialogue.

It was hard picking only one quote, but this seemed to need less context or previous remarks included.

And Emily, my protagonist, finally gets a decent line:

"There's a word for people like you, Joel. And you're very lucky I'm not the sort of girl to use it in polite company!"

 

Not from a main but my favorite side character - at the end of the second-to-last chapter:

"This is cable news. If you're looking for a happy ending, change the channel."

 

I don't have a lot of dialogue in my story yet, but one I kinda of like because it sort of relates to future events is when my character sees some crows watching and he says "stop following me, I'm not ready".
Crows in my story's folklore are said to be omens of imminent death.

 

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH MOTHER **********

 

Mine's probably "We all are going to hell, so I'm gonna get us the best seats" He doesn't believe in hell but the one he says this does

'My father taught me to fear the darkness, yet he never told me what happened in the light.'
My character when she explains that she does not see darkness as true evil, but rather that even the light should be feared.

 

Oh, crap.
[a few sentences later]
Oh, shit on a crap.
[a few sentences later]
Oh, fucking bastard-shit on a hell-crap.

... My character's having a very bad day.

 

Not from my MC, but a cameo appearance.

"I bet you can shoot the dick off a duck a mile away with that thing"
"No, but I can shoot the balls off an idiot, 3 feet away"

 

“Consider it expenses, Mr. Private Detective,” she grinned.

“Private defective, more like,” he fired back.

 

"I imagine it was bad enough to find himself in the company of an intelligent woman, but to actually become friends with one? It would be like finding out that not only do unicorns exist, he'd gone and impaled himself on one's horn. No, Geneva, we are not friends; his ego wouldn't allow it."

 

I absolutely love it.

However, the last sentence(s) is/are a little jarring by the change in tense. It seems like "won't" would fit better or else "would never."

Forgive me; I know this thread isn't meant for critiques, and I hope you aren't offended. It was just such a beautifully crafted quote, I couldn't help the single commentary so that you perhaps could polish your gorgeous gem
