Introduction. The MC dies in the middle of the story, gets sent to hell, and makes a deal with the devil as he's sent back. Now he first sees the devil as a man wearing glasses, sitting behind a desk, writing.

Mc: So you do your own paperwork. I see why they call it Hell

 

“So I’m a prisoner?”
“Prisoner, tenant, freeloader. Call it whatever makes you feel better."

 

What he did was inject people with heroine, then harvested their endorphins.

 

This isn't from one of MCs, but I stii enjoy it. This is from A Duke-general, who leads the MC's father's army. (Technically her army too, since she was made acting Queen)

Cross over universe short, but still an MC from a much bigger storyline (So I think it counts).

Okay, here's another one from my books i've enjoyed. It's between a mother and son, the Mother, who is an empress is leaving to go on a journey, leaving her son in charge.

“Hold it Merc,” the gunner to my right says loudly holding up his hand, the other on his belt fed weapon,” Identify yourself and your reason for being here.”

“Hit the loudspeaker, and I will take care of this,” Melvira says to me, my hand finds the button on the console and I nod that it is ready.

“Hey soldier boy, is that big gun for me,” her voice is husky and sultry in my ear. All I can think is we are going to get killed.

“Please identify yourself miss,” the gunner says flashing a lewd look at his fellow gate guard.

“Samson, Francine. Third class Headhunter division,” she keeps an air of seduction in her tone,” I am in need of munitions, rations, and a few hours rest is all.”

The two gunners chatter a moment, as we wait for them to open the gate. Or worse open fire.

“Exactly what is your plan here”, I ask Melvira looking at her over my left shoulder.

“Just trying to appear as friendly as possible,” she offers with an insecure edge in her voice.

“Alright Merc, move along. There is an Armor bay open in the west side depot,” the guard on the right says waving us through.

“Thank you, sir,” Melvira says through the loudspeaker, as we pass them through the heavy gate threshold.

“To be honest, I am surprised they bought that nonsense,” I say to her as we lumber off the indicated depot.

 

For context, my two characters are sitting in a basement in the middle of the night for no aparent reason. One guy asks the other what they are doing there. His response is: "We drink untill the sun rises"
Funny thing is, the character saying this doesn't drink alcohol and the drink in question is green tea.

 

I don't know why this cracks me up, but it does. Three new girls are being introduced to the other girls in their dormitory. Someone calls for "Pheely" and she introduces herself as "Ophelia".

"Can we call you "Pheely"?"

"No, you can call me "Ophelia"."

I have heard something similar to this from something, still doesn't make it a bad thing.

 

Did a quick search. similar things are a plenty. Most notable was a description of Voldemort by Ollivander...
how close is too close?
None seem to be as broad as mine in terms of humans in general. Most are about specific people.
I can change it a bit if need be. It's still early in the process.

 

I think that is exactly what what was on the tips of my fingers.
I would not say change it, just noticing the similarity is all.
Sure we all have things that are similar to something else after
a fashion.
