    Favorite Video Game

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Kratos, Jun 20, 2008.

Here's a question for you gamers. What's your favorite video game? How about for each system?

    SNES: Donkey Kong Country
N64: Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2
GCN: Tales of Symphonia/Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
Wii: Super Smash Brothers Brawl/Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

    GBC: Pokemon Silver
    GBA: Fire Emblem
DS: The World Ends With You

PC: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

I don't have any Sony or Microsoft systems, although I like Halo well enough.

I can't afford to play any RPG games anymore. I used to really like (and was good at) Soul Calibur, Virtua Fighter, and Samba de Amigo. I have no idea what system they were on.

Hmm, I've always been a Nintendo guy. I think the most fun I've ever had with a video game would have to be Resident Evil 4. Advanced Wars is the best hand-held game, ever. I also loved Banjo Kazooie on the N64.

Don't think i have an all-time individual fave, but i like shooters, rpgs and racing games mostly :)

I played counter-strike addictively for years when i was younger, which I think has sort of erroded my attention span computer-game wise. I've always been a computer nerd, but i get bored of most games before i complete them these days.

Darn, I feel old now - I can name games from the Atari 2600, the Amstrad, the Commodore 64....

Meh - My all time favourites include Sonic 2 and Mortal Kombat on the Megadrive (nether hold up so well now...)

PS1 is Metal Gear Solid hands down. Final Fantasy VIII comes close.

PS2 I suppose any of the Tekken series, can't decide between the Final Fantasy's, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Shadowhearts: Covenant (that game is beyond description, lol).

Please, no one remind me that I don't have a PS3 yet - my friend keeps torturing me with descriptions of how awseome MGS4 is. I have evil friends.

DS - Shonen Jump Ultimate Stars.

    :D

Wow.. this thread tortures me. I have way too many for everything

    Nintendo (The original): Kurby
    Super Nintendo: Super Mario Bros.
N64: Zelda: O of T. Mario 64. Super Smash Brothers. I also loved Donkey Kong 64 and Banjo Kazooie 1 and 2.

PS1: Soul Reaver, FFVII, wasn't huge on Metal Gear..
PS2: Resident Evil 4, Jak and Daxter 1, 2, 3. I love those sappy cartoon adventure games, FFX also.
PS3: Lair, Call of Duty 4
Xbox: Halo, Fable, Morrowind, Need for Speed (for kicks)
Xbox 360: Oblivion, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Gears of War, Call of Duty 4 (again).
PC: I am all about World of Warcraft... sad but true.

I like the Half-Life games above all, but also the older Maxis games, like EL-Fish, SimTower, SimAnt, SimLife, SimFarm, etc.

But my top favorite is Half-Life 2. I like all the action and adventure you get when you play through the game. Even knowing what happens (if you've played it like 30 times like me), it's still suspenseful, even if you already expected that headcrab to jump out from behind the boxes.

I love Half-Life 2. Definitely one of the greatest games ever made! Have you ever played Garry's Mod?

    I'll do it by genre:

Action: Serious Sam, Resident Evil 4, Mafia, Deus Ex, Ninja Gaiden, God of War.
Horror: Resident Evil 1 & 2, Silent Hill 2, Fatal Frame, Thief 3.
Stealth: The "Splinter Cell" series (especially the 3rd), Thief 3.
Adventure: Monkey Island 2 (funniest game I've ever played), Day of the Tentacle (2nd funniest game I've ever played), Grim Fandango (not as funny as the others, but has really good puzzles).
RPG: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Deus Ex, Morrowind, Oblivion.
Strategy: Rise of Nations, Company of Heroes.
