    Feeling sick?

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by Echo88, May 3, 2020.

What are some other ways to say "a sick feeling"? My character just witnessed something horrible and needs to have a physical reaction to it. He's not going to actually throw up, just feel sick. But what's a nice, descriptive way to say that?

    Felt his gorge rise?

I always liked the word gorge for some reason. It sounds, I don't know, blunt?

TRYING (!!!) to read Eric Flint's "Ring of Fire" series.......it's soooo many books!!!!!
Probably not a "nice" way to say it, but one poster on fmylife.com talked about being "chained to the porcelain throne" while suffering from projectile vomiting aka the toilet.

    Good description.....

I didn't even think of gorge as like "gorge myself". I was imagining a deep canyon. You opened my eyes with this one.
