    Fellow grammatical experts I need your assistance!

    I am working on structuring sentences and I would appreciate someone checking my work for any errors. I am focusing on Subject and predicate.

    Red- subject

    Blue- Predicate

    Alex is running quickly.

    Jessica made tofu and rice.

    The car built a machine .

    I am writing a book.

    The Polk-o- dot shirt has a stain on it.

    The big black beast was smelling dandelions.

    Alex is running quickly.

    If you're finding the whole subject, it includes its modifiers (adjectives, articles, etc.). The 'simple subject' is just the noun by itself.
    I bolded the simple subjects in red. Bolded the verbs in blue.
