Hi all, Second post, different dilemma: What about describing a situation in such a way that you cannot fully know what he/she is actually doing, while referring to this later in the story? An example I am writing about is about shaving and baldness. I am describing a few movements and observations about a person who is creating some baldness without referring what is actually shaved and becoming bald here, neither if it is a women nor a men. In a later chapter, I am turning back to this point while now clearly defining that a she is shaving her down-town-dining-and-enterainment-district. Is this a good method for keeping people read the story while hiding things...? Love from Holland, Kersje
I think it's entirely possible to do that, yes. if and only if it is well written. But ask if that detail is important to the story. I mean you have to leave some to the reader's imagination.
