Why can you only eat soft foods?

    Tonsils or wisdom teeth removed?
I remember only being able to eat pastas and oatmeal for two weeks after I had my wisdom teeth removed. Bleh. I couldn't even look and macaroni and cheese for a year after that.
And when I first got my braces put on, and each time they were tightened, all I could eat for a week was soup, soup, and more soup.

Gah, I had dental surgery, Way worse than wisdom teeth being took out. trust me. :/ They had to reconstruct a new pathway then one wire is connected into my gum onto one tooth and the other has a chain pulling it down into place. So I have like two holes in my gums until those teeth come in. it sucks. I'm currently eating mashed taters! :D

Really getting my braces tightened doesn't really bother me. :p

Devon scones with clotted cream & strawberry jam.

Luckily for my waistline, I only get in the mood to have this very occasionally. Like today.

Vanilla ice cream drizzled with top quality Balsamic vinegar (the kind that is almost syrupy thick).

Indescribable. The balsamic vinegar is both intensely tart and intensely sweet, with a strong fruitiness a lot like pomegranate syrup. Combining it with the cool, clean vanilla flavor creates a contrast that is almost orgasmic in intensity.

I should mention that you can expect to spend about $50 (or more!) for a four ounce bottle of good, aged balsamic vinegar. It's definitely an indulgent treat.

    So true.

My favorite salad dressing is balsamic vinegarette, and it's like looking for a needle in a haystack when it comes to finding a good vinegarette that doesn't false advertise the Balsamic...

On another note, I made amazing stuffed tomatoes the other day! They had black beans, cilantro and lime rice, and red peppers and corn. So- so *yum!

That actually sounds really good. It doesn't sound like it has any meat in it either.

    Mind sending me the recipe?

Well, I would NOT use the good stuff for a vinaigrette! There are intermediate grades that are perfectly adequate for general kitchen use and won't break the bank.

When I'm shopping for general use balsamic, I like to use the "tilt test." If it sloches back down the neck of the bottle like common wine vinegar, I put it back. I try to choose one that clings to the glass at least a little.

This amazing Italian place in town, Gino's, has the absolute best food. Today I had fetticini alfredo with shrimp... it's to die for, it's so good. :D Filling, creamy, rich and incredible. The shrimp are so plump and well-cooked, too.
