Hello, fellow writers of writingforums.org! My name is Lisa and I am an aspiring writer. I've joined this forum under the frequently overlooked notion that "no writer is an island" and I need to be courageous and start making connections with other people who love to do what I love to do. Sharing my work and receiving critique is still a big, new, scary thing for me. So bear with. While I've considered myself to be a writer for well over half my life, I often times keep my work tucked safely away in my Documents folder; never to see the light of day. Recently, I opened an account and posted some work on Wattpad and on Fanfiction.net as well. While I do have a novel and screenplay in the works (which I am working on at my university- I'm a newly declared creative writing major), I'm planning to use Fanfiction as my primary vessel for improvement. There are many reasons for this and I can gladly expand on this thought if you'd like me to. I may eventually share my novel on Wattpad (it follows the same storyline as the screenplay), but am currently bouncing back and forth with this decision since it is my dream to have it, among other works published on a professional platform someday. Gaining insight from you guys about the benefits and setbacks of sites like Wattpad is another reason why I joined. In addition, this forum was appealing to me because of its openness to fanfic writers. I see that you have a board on here for us and I certainly plan to use it in the coming days. That's all I have for now. Again, if you'd like to know anything else about me or my (slowly progressing) work, don't hesitate to ask! I truly look forward to connecting with you and learning about the projects that you are passionate about as well! Cheers! L.S.
