Hello I'm new here and new(ish) to writing. I write a bit of poetry just for fun and want to branch out to different types of writing Computer's being very slow so I may not respond to posts in a hurry :redface:

Hello Cats, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Please read How to Use the Review Room before you post there. Posting your own writing for people to comment on should not be among the very first things you do here. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. Also, be aware that posting a piece of writing on any public site, including this one, will greatly diminish your chances of selling it for publication. Removing the writing later does not alter that fact - once posted, it is irreversibly considered published. So do not post anything more than a small excerpt of any piece you are planning to submit for publication. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize constructive critique as a vital writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). One bossy paws male here We did have a tortoiseshell female before we got our male, but lost her to a tumour (cancer we think) We'll never know for certain exactly what it was.
That's horrible. We've lost so many over the years so I know how horrible it can be. First there was Pumpkin, named so because of her markings. She got run over. Then there was a brother and sister from wales who we called Chucky and Angelica, named after the rugrats. Angelica got ill and had to be put down. Then we got Blacky, named so because of his colour. He wasn't wanted because his tail got broken at birth. Then we gor Nina - she had been abused. Then we got Lily. Then we got Ji-mime-ma (No idea how it is spelt so I wrote that based on sound, she was named after a rag doll). She got cat-napped. Then we got Chocolate, named so because of his colour. He got run over. Then we got Maria (Snowy would have been a better name). She was a stray that my cousin took in then was told she couldn't keep. She choked. ^^ I don't actually know if the order of the last three are correct ^^ Then we gor Sugar. Hhe was a birthday present for my mum so she chose his name. Then we got Smoky, named because of her colour. She is Sugar's sister but actually belonged to the girlfriend of the guy who gave us Sugar; since they spilt up and she left Smoky at the house, she was given to us. Hehe! So as you can see, most of our cats were rescue cats and we are unlucky with kittens. So far we still have Chucky, Nina, Blacky, Lily, Sugar and Smoky. There have also been other pets over the years. A rabbit named 'Fluffy' (because of it's coat) that belonged to my sister but died of old age. Two more rabbits, one called Midnight that died a day after getting it and one called Spot that we still have. (Also both named because of their coats). There were some hamsters and gerbils when I was really young but I can't remember that well, then I had a hamster called Honey who died a few years ago of old age. We also had some fish that we gave to my nan. Sorry that I've gotten off track on your intro - I hope you don't mind. Anyway, I should probably go to bed since it is 23:20 and I need to get up early tomorrow (9:00am).
I don't mind We've had several guinea pigs and 2 hamsters as well - one guinea pig died due to heart failure when we were on holiday, the rest died of old age (including both hamsters)
Hey! I have a cat too, her tail is in a knot, it's pretty sad but the vet said they shouldn't remove it because it might disturb her balance! She's pretty vicious, loves to catch mice! ( Sezen, it's a good thing you're on speed then, you can definatly outrun her!! ) I once wrote a story from a cat's POV (point of view), you should try it sometime if you want to practice writing Just an idea! Our cat Blacky has a broken tail (as I said before!) Speed is good, I recomend it! (Only joking. I wonder though if my physics teacher has ever gotten together with the biology teachers and given a mouse speed or if when he gave me such a description he was just trying to be funny) Hmm, I think maybe I will...just as soon as I have finished writing the murder scene I promised my friend I would. I read a joke once called 'Dairy Of A Cat' - it was very entertaining.
I think mine had a broken tail aswell but it healed in loads of akward curves and it looks like someone tied a knot in it! And I certainly hope your teachers arent that cruel!
