Hello to you all. I joined this site over the weekend in hopes of finding a community where I can offer and recieve writing advice from other writers. I mostly write science fiction, and on my current novel, I have written an extensive background and history that is still growing and becoming more in-depth. I hope that we will all be able to share ideas with each other and help each other improve in many ways. I look forward to reading/writing with you all.
Welcome and I do hope that you find this forum satisfies your needs. We have a lot to offer here and there is always new information posted around the forum all the time. I hope that you find your stay here to be pleasant and I look forward to seeing you around the board. We have short story competitions going here and also a joint story venture, you should check them out and see if they interest you at all. Well see you around the board. Any questions simply ask. Torana

I go away for 36 hours and all these new members! Anyway, hello and welcome! If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I hope you enjoy the site!
Hello PinkFloydian. Welcome to the Writing Forums. I hope you enjoy your time here. Exploring the corners of the site is a good start, so you find all that we have to offer, and get to meet the other members as people and fellow writers. Have fun!
Hey everyone, I went away for a while, but I'm back now. . If I could re-write my former introduction, I would :-(. Anyways, I'm back!!
Welcome back to the Writing Forums, PinkFloydian. Things have changed quite a bit since you first joined, so I'll go through the whole spiel. Posting your own work should not be the very first thing you do here. It is really worthwhile to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
