What to do if you're bored...

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by nburwell, Apr 15, 2008.

I'm so bored... It's almost 2 in the morning and I have no idea if anyone is actually online. I have a headache so I don't feel like writing. I'm watching Friends reruns again... I have checked every forum that I'm a member of. I think might go to sleep soon...

What do you do when you're bored? OR What would you suggest to someone if they said they were bored?

Write. Just write your thoughts, about the gunk stuck to the window. Whatever.

if I were bored at almost 2 am, I'd got to bed. THat's what normal people do if they are bored at that time of the morning....

mmmmmmmmm insomnia, the cause of probably over 60% of the internet population. Bleary eyed teenagers that think too much and have nothing better to do than stare at a screen and wait for an epiphany

And it's 12:02 here. Given, I should be revising, but that's beside the point.

lol that website used to cure my boredom easily

i watch tv when i'm bored. usually in my most enlongated-stretched of boredom it breaks with a good plot idea for the novel i'm working on with my co-author haha. It's sad then because I realize at that moment that the entire time I was "bored" I had been working out plot ideas in the back of my mind.

Sigh. Oh well, more often than not the idea is a good one.

However, if you have a headache and don't feel like writing- do you draw at all? photography? Something artsy can help once in awhile.

I grew up in the era that never told anyone they were bored.
It meant that a parent would hear and you would be given some totally obnoxious job to do.
When I am bored I reach for a book. It makes you look busy and you can be totally thinking nasty things to happen to people you don't like.
Now there is the internet to make you look like you are doing something constructive.
And yes people on this forum are not normal and that is why I sort of fit in here.
    Totally not normal grandma.

When I am bored I start talking to myself. The best conversastions are those with yourself. Then I'm trying to convince people I am sane :p
