    Happy Easter!

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Lydia, Apr 24, 2011.

    Happy Easter everyone!

What does Easter mean to you? Has it a religious meaning, or is it your way to celebrate spring, or just an excuse to eat lots of chocolate? Do you celebrate it with your family, with friends? Do you have a giant Easter picknick?

For me it's remembering that Jesus rose after dying for us, giving us the chance to gain eternal life... and maybe also an excuse to eat lots of chocolate. :p I just had a great Easter breakfast, and soon I'll have Easter lunch, then Easter dinner. And lots of chocolate eggs in between, of course. (My stomach is hurting already)

It doesn't have a religious meaning to me, it's just an excuse to eat chocolate. :p But now I'm older, I get less eggs. :( Oh well, I made Easter nests so I'll have them and I might get surprised with an Easter egg hunt. :)

Okay, I am having an Easter egg hunt later. Oh yeah! :D

*is all alone on Easter* I don't have an egg, but I did find a single square of chocolate on my desk, so I guess that will be my treat. :p /going through the self-deprivations of student life at the moment

Well, from the history forum I'm on, I have learned that 95 years ago, there was the Easter Rebellion in Ireland.

Man, it's 11:09pm on Easter Sunday and I haven't had any chocolate yet....too busy writing essays...but yeah, I guess New Zealand's pretty secular, Easter is more or less just a day off here, and this year Easter monday falls on Anzac Day, so it's kinda eclipsed by that.

    *goes to buy chocolate*

Not a religious thing for me. Enjoy the chocolate though.

It's getting in the way of writing today as I've got so much to do. Cooking our Easter dinner and trying to get laundry done too.

I'll make an effort later to get a few more paragraphs done.

    Happy Easter! (Welcome back Lydia!)

A day for chocolate eating and reading, with considerable eagerness, the massive amounts of stuff in the Sunday papers about the upcoming Royal Wedding.

    Happy Easter!

For me, Easter is a religious holiday that includes going to Mass. Just because I celebrate it as a religious holiday does not exclude me from any chocolate (and jelly bean) eating. ;)

    Happy Easter!

There's no religious meaning for me really, although I do like watching religious TV shows and films...Like The Life Of Brian, LOL. I watched a reinactment show about Jesus today, and watched Disney's The Prince Of Egypt the other day....Did I fill my biblical quota? :p

I had a huge salad lunch which bloated me out (this salad included potatoes, pasta and many, many crutons) and a whole easter egg afterwards. I try and only eat half an easter egg, but it never works out. I have to eat the whole thing.

So I spent quite some time laying on the sofa in a little sugar coma, but I'm satisfied. :D

Diet starts again tomorrow so I might aswell enjoy it while it lasts, lol!

Religious for me, as well as an excuse to eat chocolate. And I'm not really with my family this year. I wanted to make an Easter basket for my son, but I'm sooooo broke. Maybe next year. :(

Why would anyone need an excuse to eat chocolate?
