Should be a fun 8 days...enjoy!
May it be a time for tikkun olam for all peoples.
I have some friends who have a Jewish parent and a Christian parent, so I took something from "The OC" and always wish them a Merry Chrismukkah.
Chrismukkah. Finally a word for what I want to celebrate!
Happy 8 crazy days, friends!
That was what I was going to say.
Wether is Hanukkah, or Chrismukkah, I hope you have a great week and a day!
Never been a fan of that word. They are two totally different and unrelated festivals that happened to occur at about the same time of year.
But thanks for remembering, everyone.
So far, it has been a very good holiday. Thanks, guys.
Have a good holiday all you Jewish folk!
This thread reminded me of a song we used to sing in assembly at my primary school. It went like this:
'Shalom my friend, Shalom my friend,
'til we meet again, 'til we meet again,
It was a nice song. However, to this day I still have absolutely no idea why we were singing Hebrew songs when our school wasn't even Jewish.
Then again, I've no idea why we used to sing songs by S Club 7 in assembly either, or songs like 'I Found A Peanut'.
Singing Jewish songs sounds fine. It would be cultural education.
Happy Hanukkah to everyone here and my two friends in Ashdod!
My dad likes to sing Adam Sandler's Hanukkah song.
