Whoa, man, you're like, from the future... Still an hour and a half to go here. No fireworks yet. This town is lousy with cheapskates. Happy new year.
I'm always last. Still ten hours to go. Still, Happy New Year to all of you for whom it's already 2018. How are things in the future? Have you got flying cars yet?
Apparently a local businesses always has them at five. Probably so more families can go and watch them by the lake... Do you keep your distance from strangers? Have you eaten enough rotten fish? It sort of comes natural after a while!
Ah yes, of course it's all in the surstrømming. It's so obvious. Don't know what the hell I was thinking. We do have that whole antisocial thing down pat, but it doesn't really do much by itself.
About two hours to go here. My dogs are sleeping peacefully, I'm watching a pretty good Canadian comedian on the telly, Ron James. I expect to stay up until midnight because my dogs will be upset when the kaBooms start. I didn't make the Angry Robot deadline for a submission without an agent. I'm bummed but at the same time fine with my decision it wasn't ready. I didn't want to finish this book short of its potential to get it in by their midnight deadline (4pm PST here) though it would have been nice. Working with that deadline motivated me a couple weeks ago to get the damn thing done. This is a good book. I'm not one of those people that spits out a book and thinks it's wonderful. I have something to say and it's in this book. I've spent years learning how to write. I've had critique all that time from writers with incredible talent. Sept/Oct/Nov was the busy season for my business. Now it's the story I'm writing that is occupying my time. I wish all of you the same, interest and confidence in your writing. And beyond that I wish all of you success in your endeavors be it writing or anything else that you put your minds to. Happy New Year everyone!
The Times Square ball drop thing was eighteen seconds late (at least, when they replayed the moment here in Southern California)! Oh well. Happy New Year from those of us on Pacific Standard Time! Who was the full-of-himself doofus who sang Imagine in Times Square? That rendition was embarrassing.
Well, 2018 is 8 hours old here in Blighty. So far ...no flying cars. But then again, it's still dark out there. Maybe I missed them. Happy New Year!
Yeah, my head is still attached *gropes around to find it*.. thought so. Happy New Year from the UK and Robin Hood's Sherlock Forest (I always get this feeling when I look around where I live)
Sherlock Forest? And the most famous detective in Victorian England was Sherwood Holmes? Methinks someone had a bit too much to drink while warbling Auld Lang Syne...
Happy New Year, WF! And thanks to all the members in Australia and New Zealand for beta testing 2018 for the rest of us.
Happy New Year everyone! I'm hoping to improve my writing and poetry this year, as well as finish my first draft of my WIP, so hopefully that goes well
