    Has Anyone Read Phillip Dick?

Discussion in 'Discussion of Published Works' started by Zcreative, Mar 1, 2009.

My question is, Is he an author worth reading for someone who is new to science-fiction? Will I get overwhelmed if I read a book by him?
Thanks for your feedback in advance,

    Z ;)

I doubt so. What do you mean 'overwhelmed'? What kind of book has overwhelmed you before?

I'd say "Do androids dream of electric sheep?" is pretty accesible.

I guess overwhelmed was the wrong word to use. Lol I don't really know what I meant. Is he a good author? That's basically my question.

I just watched A Scanner Darkly tonight. I've never read Phillip K Dick, but this movie was really good.

Total Recall is also derived from a Philip K. Dick story.

The Man In The High Castle is an excellent 'alternate history' by PKD.

Dick is an excellent science fiction writer. His best in my opinon are Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? or Flow my tears, the Police Man said.

I recently listened to Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep on audio book (released under the title of the movie adaptation, Bladerunner.)

    Great book!
