    Describe female character

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by Chrissy, Apr 22, 2020.

I have a older female character that my protagonist has to work with and she has had a lot of plastic surgery. I want to have my main character observe how her face is not moving when she talks or is immobile towards expressions. I don't want to sound "judgy" since they do like each other.

Belinda, returning at night from a meeting with a court appointed client she was representing, was hit head on by a drunk driver on a country road. Years of reconstructive surgery left her face a mask of surgeon-sculpted scar tissue and her mouth fixed in a half smile that never changed.

Or: Margaret had always been vain about her looks. By late middle age a series of face lifts had left her with a face that looked like a girl's after her mother had pulled her hair too tight. Her expression never changes when she talked.
