Health care law (US) certain to go to Supreme Court

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Steerpike, Aug 12, 2011.

Just saw that the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals held the health care mandate to be Unconstitutional. This gives us a Court of Appeals decision in one circuit that is in direct conflict with the decision of another Circuit.

A sure way to get the Supreme Court to grant certiorari when the cases concern policies of this magnitude.

To be honest, it will die straight in it's tracks. The Supreme Court is pretty good on getting rid of the stuff that's unconstitutional. But we'll just have to see.

They may well rule the mandate unconstitutional and leave the rest of the law in place, effectively sending it back to Congress to come up with something besides the mandate to make it work.

If it wasn't so unconstitutional, the people wouldn't have a hard time about it. But there so many things that had been put in there that's goes against our government, so i hope they take out all the unwanted stuff and the parts that make it unconstitutional and make it work like you said.
