Hi, I recently stumbled upon this forum and after reading a lot of rules and guidelines and having a look at some of the threads, it could be just what I'm looking for. I've loved writing, any kind of writing really, since I was a young teenager borrowing dad's typewriter. I've updated my tools since then and I'm currently using Scrivener on an iMac. I've tried to finish the first draft of a novel many times, but have never seen the end of it. I have however picked up a lot of great tips and tricks that I swear by and be more than happy to share and hopefully I'll receive some help in return. I've participated in NaNoWriMo a few times, but only reached 50,000 words once, although the first draft wasn't finished (and it's still not finished..). About me as a writer: - I write a little bit for a sports website, but I hope to write more about movies in the future (I study film at Univeristy) - I sort of dabble in multiple genres (not at the same time); I've written fantasy (you know, Orcs and magic and sword fights and all that), some form of drama (where inexplainable events can happen, like in the movie 'Magnolia'), comedy and lately I've been working on a horror story (I say lately, it was actually my last NaNoWriMo attempt last fall...). - I write both in Norwegian (being Norwegian and all) but also English. Why did I join this forum? To learn from others, to hopefully help and inspire others and to find out if I'm actually any good at writing and if I should try to pursue my dream of writing something that could actually be published. Also, I'm here to get to know people and make some friends or writing buddies Ok, that was probably a way too long first post, but there you go.
