Hi everyone, just a quick note to introduce myself. I'm new to the site and fairly new to fiction writing and am excited to have found a welcoming and diverse on-line community! The extent of my experience was a few elective creative writing courses in college. As an avid guitarist I've also written a fair number of songs and lyrics, the quality of which could best be described as "varied." I'm looking forward to getting to know people here and will try and round out my profile to show off a little more personality in the near future.

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. We have a lot to offer here and I am sure that you will see that as you explore the wonders around the forums. We have weekly writing contests in the weekly writing group.
