    I am not a writer

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Edgar Allan Boe, May 10, 2015.

As I pass over these forums one cannot help but to think of how many people consider themselves writers, and not just glorified penholders/key pushers. I still don't know "Why is a raven like a writing desk?", nor has it kept me up late at night.

I am certain my peers will punish me with slanderous troll bait and/or mediocre rants about my very first post not exhuming the likes of a newbie poster. To this I say "My bad."

A raven is like a writing desk, as both serve a purpose in an authors toolbox. The desk is written upon and the raven serves us with quills to write with -- Am I doing it write?

    P.S.

    Hello.

Ok, I see I was moved to the "Nobody will ever see me here" pile.

    Good luck all.

I'm kinda creeped out by the idea of anyone "exhuming the likes of a newbie poster." Can't we just let the dead newbies rest in peace?

Otherwise - I think you may be building things up to be a bit more dramatic than they're likely to be. I hope you're not disappointed when nobody eviscerates you.

    Also - Hello.

dig out (something buried, especially a corpse) from the ground.

just for a second, think with an idea and not your litteral google results.

See, in many fine writings you will see sentences that seem obvious at first glance, but as the time passes people begin to pick it apart and make something completely different from it. See "writing desk and raven".

Let's take a closer look: "my very first post not exhuming the likes of a newbie poster. "

Let's take an even closer look: "my very first post not exhibiting the likes of a newbie poster."

Let's take a look at what the writer actually meant to say "my very first post not dug up from the dead on the net in the likes of a newbie poster."

So why didn't he just say he didn't want to plagiarize a dead poet or writer? Why live when you can be live!

Poetry/art needs a guide? No, those who seek the success of others hard work may need a guide. ;)

I think you're trying a bit too hard on this one, but... okay. Live on.

No, poetry/art does not need a guide. This forum benefits from one, though - kind of like a forum operations manual.

Also, we're pretty much all seeking the success of each others' hard work. That means we're helping them succeed, not stealing their success. :p

I do enjoy a convoluted introduction that subtly insults the active forum users.

Welcome to the forums. Do try and be nice - the world would be a better place if we could all just be amiable.
