Hi my name is AK Asha and I've just joined the forum. I've always harboured a desire to be a writer, in fact it's one of the very few things I can honestly say has remained a constant since childhood. Now I'm nearly forty years old and although I have written short stories, poems and once a play and have won small competitions I've never seriously tried to write in order to get published. I'm hoping I can pick up lots of good advice and get some inspiration from you all. I hope that eventually I can also perhaps give others inspiration but it may take a while for me to get going. I'm going back to my Open University studies so in September I'll be bogged down with studies. However, before then I hope to write up some stuff for people to review. Have to go now because it will soon be time to cook tea. See you all soon AK Asha

Welcome, A.K., from another newbie! I know what you mean about University study and what it does to your creativity. It can drain you. At the same time, you will probably emerge more confident and with your creative uirges flexed, ready to take on new projects. See you around.
Hi there. Have a look around, pull up a chair and ask any questions that come to mind. And if you think you have some good answers don't be shy about giving them. Most of us aren't professional, and even the ones who are, are always learning new things. Cheers.
It's really exciting to have a fellow sea-sider here and we're about the same age. Yippee. I'm down in sunny Cornwall myself and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We've had our tea and are off to the beach in a tick. Look forward to seeing you around.
Hello Torana, Cogito, Domoviye and Sayso my fellow seasider, although I'm on the North West Coast in Blackpool not down in Cornwall. Thanks for the greetings. I have not had a look at the whole forum just yet but will start off with a few peeks now. AK Asha
Blackpool, but a hop and a skip from sunny Manchester - what did you have for your tea out Lancashire way? I'll look forward to our meeting afresh elsewhere on the site, welcome!
Hi Gannon I made a nice chicken omlette served up with salad and some good old unhealthy chips to round the meal off. Look forward to meeting you elsewhere on the site. AK Asha
