Good day to you all! I'm English so be easy on me I'm currently a 19-year-old unemployed wannabe scriptwriter who is currently spending his time writing anything random he can think of... oh and playing guitar. My writing style is very specific - to be as random and ridiculous as possible but still keep it funny. Terry Pratchett is probably the one writer who inspired me into doing what I want to do in the future... but for the screen instead of writing books. I also have an over the top ambition to be a Director but that is NEVER gonna happen. I am off to University in the future to study writing for the screen, and hopefully if I get a good grade I'll settle down with a decent job and enjoy it at the same time. Anyway, hopefully I'll stick around but if I'm honest I've been on countless forums and I haven't really been active on them. Oh, and my name is Mike... just if you haven't already guessed from the name
Welcome to WF.org, Mike! Hope to see some of your pieces here. I could do with a laugh. And oh, about sticking about in a forum, i think you'll find it very difficult indeed to leave this one (Ask Banzai and Torana about it).
Thanks for the welcome Hulk I very much doubt that I'll be putting anything up on the forum soon... I think I get too many ideas and end up straying into different projects. I am working on one science fiction one though which I love doing, but I think its too over the top but ah well its partly for just my own entertainment. I hope I'll find it difficult to leave, would be good to get to know you all and have a look at works of other writers.
Hello Mike, Welcome to the Writing Forums. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well! As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Mike Man you can't think like that. What you think happens. I dare you...NO! I double dog dog dare your to become a Director. You better hang around for a while, is good. I want to see it. Rickie
