Hello everyone, thrilled to be here. Nice to get my first post in the system. Out of all the writing forums available, this appears to be the right spot! Many kindred spirits unified under a great cause - writing. To date, I have several unpublished short stories and 1 novel undergoing research, revision, and development. It is my hope that I can use the knowledge gained here to make these rough drafts worthy of being read by others. Before registering, I took the liberty of reading several posts and perusing some of the features here on Writing Forums. It all seems to be engaging, friendly, and well-managed. I, too, echo many other members in wishing that this board was found much sooner. Quick bio: To be brief, I'm a self-professed bibliophile looking to improve my craft via the workshops. I try to write for at least 15 minutes everyday. It was at an early age that I found out that beauty and graceful responsibility could be discovered in reading books, and equally by writing. In lieu of getting a MFA, I've decided against incurring debt and joining a community of writers for critiques (free is a beautiful word!) I also believe there are dedicated people here who not only give encouragement to "carpe diem" but also to "carpe noctem." Writers are all too familiar with this noble urgency - to seize what we have - that great jolt in which we slip into intimate sleep and then wake up in the middle of the night to write a line we can't afford to lose. I look forward to conversing with you all and getting help from each other to reach our goals. See you around the forums! Erstwhile
Oh honey, no. At least a couple hours dedicated to writing a day. Greetings, welcome, and salutations to the forum (AKA the MAdhouse). Good luck with your works, and I will C-ya around.
Welcome. Start a journal, do some crits, workshop your writing and receive feedback. Good luck. -OJB.
