    Help I need title ideas

Discussion in 'General Writing' started by etherealcalc, Sep 21, 2016.

I have this short story that takes place in high school. Everything is totally normal (think realistic fiction), but the main character can see the red strings of fate connecting people to their soulmates. This being high school, almost no one there is connected to anyone else there. The story is about her having a massive crush on a guy with whom she is not connected and her decision about whether or not she should ask him to the dance and the consequences of said decision.
I need help deciding a title for it. The titles I used to have for it were "Fate, Blink, Obey" and "That Which You Shouldn't See", but they don't sound good.

    That's easy... 'No Strings Attached'.

Or how about this one, 'Lord of the Strings'.;)

Then just call it, 'Pulling Strings'?

Pulling strings implies that you're asking for a favor, which doesn't happen in the story.

Okay then, try this... 'The String Whisperer'.

Read through the story until you find a phrase that resonates. You can also come up with a phrase that sums up your mc's main problem.

That one is good. You should pick that one. Picture the main character on your front cover tangled in the strings of people walking past her, with "Intertwined" in letters made of the same red strings. Brilliant, mate

"No strings attached" sounds like it would work just fine for a more serious book. Personally, I think it's perfect.
