I love Hyperbole and a Half! Well I used to, until she announced a book deal and then didn't update for about a year. I stopped checking.

Did you have any pets as a kid @Tenderiser ? How about funny stories about you and your pets. Like things you did with them as a child.

Why you write romance (if you haven`t touched on that already.

    Why you write

    You're thoughts on Fabio

You're thoughts on those chubby romance novels with the abs on the cover that you see in the spin racks at dollar stores

    A bio for Abs Mcmuscle

The hidden complexities of the romance genre

    The novel writing process

How you come up with setting and themes

and because the above were serious topics last but not least

If all humans on Earth died out what animal do you predict would evolve into the dominant species and why. I`d read that blog post man. *

*No Apes or monkeys, to overused it`s just cheating.

Actually, current predictions say if humans die other good ape candidates will die out too, and the most likely inheritors is squid.

Another good choice. Foxes could also fill the role.

I think his scenario was apocalypse courtesy of nuclear war. Others might kill off most land animals which is probably where the squid comes into it.

There are far more insects, spiders, ants, etc living on this planet than humans. They will outlive us in some form.

The discussion point is replacing our niche in the ecosystems, not existing. But yes. Cockroaches will continue to do very well after us.

I had this conversation recently with my best friend (we like to science together) and she thought cockroaches were the most likely replacement. I was uncertain if they have the neural capacity to evolve in a more 'intelligent' direction. Nearly all (if not all?) of their behaviour is innate, so it seems a bit of a stretch. But I'm just guessing, obviously.

Maybe I should blog about this...

Or Dolphins? Intelligent sea creatures, turning from cute to dominating and domineering tyrants of the world would be some spin...

On an episode of Mythbusters (Season 6, Episode 3; I don't know if you got this show in the UK) they tested cockroaches along with two other types of insects (one was fruit flies, but I don't remember the other) to see which would survive best after exposure to radiation. Cockroaches didn't come off best (I think it was fruit flies, but don't remember for sure).

It's fruit Flies. Other, more scientific research tell us that. Many insects have high radiation tolerance, Cockroaches are second or third, fruit flies are the best.

Do one about how much you love me and how very helpful I am. And you know, those other people on the forum who've helped you. A tribute to your forum associates. But mostly me. ;)
