Greetings everyone. I found this site in hopes to have my work critiqued, so I can become a better writer, for help with writing styles I want to experiment with, for help when I experience the dreaded block, and to, hopefully, help others with their writing. I've written many poems, many song lyrics, and a couple of short stories. I'm working on a screenplay, and I'm outlining/starting a novel, both of which I would love as much help as I can get. Most of my poetry isn't very good, it's shallow for the most part. I plan to post quite a bit of my work when I have the time on my home computer. I do most of my posting at my work computer. I enjoy quirky general fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, and thriller the most. I find non-fiction to be liberating and informative, because when I think back and subsequently write it down, it seems to bring out feelings and thoughts I didn't catch on to at the time. Thanks for taking the time to read this and welcome me. I'll be happy to answer any additional questions.
Oh noes! We have a no smoking policy! <I won't tell the mods so don't worry> Anyways....welcome to the forum and I hope that you have a great time here. Plenty of insane members to keep you company while you are around the dark halls. Have fun and all that huff. Mistress of the Macabre <aka Torana> Reviewer/Supporter
Hi there! Welcome! Hmmm...I don't know, I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. I'll do my best to help you out with your work. Just PM me if you need anything.
Hello Pipe And Pen, Welcome to the Writing Forums. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Well, it's pipe tobacco, probably allergic to it as well, sorry. I'll keep my smoking to myself. Thanks for the great welcome.
