    Heyo Spaghettios

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by OtterlySilly, Sep 3, 2018.

I've had ideas for a fantasy novel that I'd love to put to words, but realize I need to practice writing to do it any justice. So I'm here to learn how to become a better writer and hopefully make new friends in the process. Nice to meet you all!

Still Life with Woodpecker - Tom Robbins
I read if several lifetimes ago, and the only things I can recall about it was that Seattle has lots of rain and blackberries, and there was a character, an immigrant woman, who said "Oh, oh, spaghetti-o" just like my mother.
Spaghetti-O's suck, but Tim Robbins and my mother were terrific.
Advice: To be a good writer, you need to read a lot of good books.
Not as easy as it sounds, because the world is just chock-a-block with bad books and it keeps getting harder every day to find the ones you need.
But you know them when you read them.
