    Greetings

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Keth Andril, Feb 24, 2008.

I'm Dylan, but I am more commonly referred to as Keth, Goates, or Coyote. I have an extremely wide range of interests including, but not exclusive to, music performance/writing, fictional writing, drawing, computer engineering, programming, researching irrelevant topics, reading anything by Orson Scott Card, Arnold Schwarzennegger movies, and hot showers. I work at the Sam Ash in Sharonville, OH and was born and raised in Deer Park, OH (both near Cincinnati).

I came across this site while doing a google search for "Writing Forums." Who would've guessed?

I mostly write music, but sometimes I write lyrics, poetry, or short stories. I have several ideas for novels that I have yet to finish. I'm hoping that having people willing to critique my writing might encourage me to do more of it.

That being said, thanks for having me. I'm sure it'll be fun.

Welcome Coyote, I love watching the coyotes and wolves when we are out on the back roads around here so I will call you Coyote.
Your work will definetly get critqued and it is usually pretty painless.
I write children's stories that I post and I write sort of twiddles that I don't post because there really isn't a place for them here. But they get my frustrations out.
come to the lounge and meet the folks.
    again welcome.

Hello Keth, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well!

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
