What I'm about to tell you is not a lie. This is the truth. I have a slow learning disability, ADHD Mild Autism and Severe anxiety. I'm having trouble with vocabulary. grammar and also my general creative writing skills. Sure, I type as if I could write really well but I really can't and lately I've been having an issue with severe writer's block because I just cant think of anything to write about. My style of writing falls under fantasy/science fiction and I also like writing about my favorite anime shows which most people call fanfictions. I'd show you my work but...I'm a bit shy about showing it to people even my friends.
Interesting...What does your username mean to you? Oh, WELCOME! Chat when you want to by PMing me or sending me a visitor message. Welcome to the family and and may you have fun, may your words flow, and your keys never strike back
My sister has autism. =) And she's ADHD. I like to write fan-fiction too. And, I'm just about as new as you are. =)
I have ADHD and Severe Anxiety too, wowee. Welcome to the website! I like to treat my disabilities as points, and compare myself against others. It's a good way to keep a positive outlook on things.
Hello Yuusaki, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Posting your own work should not be the very first thing you do here. It is really worthwhile to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Hi Yuusaki, Welcome to the forums. I have a couple good friends with ADHD. One of them also has dyslexia and he's finishing up his fourth year in med school. Sounds like you have a great positive attitude just as he does. I'm sure you will be successful. Hope to see you around. Please let me know if you need any help.
