This site rocks, but am wondering if we could have a space devoted to the horror genre? I'm not talking mystery or dark fantasy-just plain old horror.
There is already a subforum in the short stories forum for horror: https://www.writingforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=57 The other Review Room forums aren't subcatagorised into genre.
The writing forums offers several different places you can talk about horror. In general writing you can post your own works queries or general issues you may have in regards to writing horror. The character development thread is another place if you want to place your queries in regards to the character aspect of writing horror. These are just a few of the helpful threads on offer in the writing issues section. There is also a reviewing section and book discussion in the community section. It would be nice to have a section dedicated to horror. However I think unfair considering then other genres would be missed and we have a lot of writers who specialise in a vast spectrum of genres. So if you’re curious about something, I’d simply find the correct section and ask away If you aren’t to sure what is and isn’t okay to post I’d ask the mods they are the fellows with blue user names.
As Banzai mentioned, we currently have a spot for posting horror short stories. Discussion of the horror genre in general can go in general writing or in whatever forum is more appropriate for the topic. I do think it would be nice to have sections devoted to the discussion of writing specific genres of writing, such as horror, but I don't think the site's large enough to support the additional forums quite yet.
