How can I get readers to not become fixated on minor characters?

The point of researching is for you to understand it better - not necessarily to write exactly what they say, but for you to understand it , so that you can write a realistic sounding scene. (in my WIP for example i have far more ideas and potential options from research than i'm actually going to use)

At this point i'm with Spencer (and yes i realise ive been sucked in to commenting yet again)

GO AND WRITE YOUR SCREEN PLAY and let the next thing you post be an excerp of it for critique (counts down the seconds to ryan making another excuse staring "okay thanks" )
