I have a few academic essays and numerous blog posts. I use my blog posts to make it easier to publish my works, but some essays can be a bit too long and I wouldn't mind getting some of my essays to a wider audience. Do you have any tips on how to publish essays "officially" rather than simply uploading them to a blog?
You'll have to submit them to markets that publish such type of essays. Here are some that I know of (by no means a complete list): AGNI Paris Review Missouri Review Southern Review New Letters American Scholar Slate Tin House Virginia Quarterly Review Some are tougher than others, but those are the only markets I can think of that would be interested in academic essays. Also, what exactly do you mean by academic essays? I'm assuming they're not like the essays published in academic journals. Are you talking about something like creative nonfiction?
Thanks for that list. By "academic", I mean essays I have for research assignments in further/higher education about a specific event or topic. The essays are usually around 2,500 words and have citations.
Did you manage it? I have written a couple of academic essays myself and would like to know if you got the result you wanted.
