How do I make the Debate Room disappear to me again?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by GingerCoffee, Jan 13, 2019.

I'd rather not see any of the threads in that sub-forum.

Go to that forums page and in the upper right, there should be a button that says unwatch trait

I don't believe there's any way to truly mute a Forum unfortunately. Or I would be muting the debate a shelf

You can also going to any particular thread and the option should be there as well in the upper right corner

If you want to mute any particular Forum members, click their name and an option to mute them should come up

    Have a nice day

Edit: it's under the post new thread button

I'm asking the mods. I did not ask to be let back in, I do not want to be let back in. I'm sorry no one asked me or informed me of the change.

As for individuals, I don't put members on ignore for having different political views.

My bad, it showed up in the general feed. I'll unwatch. :)

I think what happened here is that the thread you were in got moved to the Debate Room after you'd contributed to it. I'm aware that doesn't answer the question for you, but it might explain why that area appeared for you again.

    That explains things. Thanks @NigeTheHat.

In that case I request when a thread is moved there is a post announcing it in the thread.

when you move a thread you can chose to notify the originator or those watching the thread - but wrey specifically told us volunteers to deselect those options, so it may be the same for the mods.

Incidentally I don't think they can block people from the whole debate room - I asked for that and was told they couldn't - they can ban people from individual threads.

Can't notify those watching the thread; only those that are watching the destination forum (so that they will know a new thread showed up).
I usually un-check both, but sometimes let it notify the thread starter. I can understand why ETB-moves should not notify, though.
