How do you "see" your writing?

All of my senses are involved when I'm thinking of my characters and the storyline, but I don't hear them speaking the words until I think of the dialogue first and imagine them saying it.

I know some writers first hear their characters speak, and then they write out the dialogue. That is sooo not fair.
