How late is too late for a love interest?

Discussion in 'Plot Development' started by Volorient, Apr 13, 2021.

I’ve been writing a story, and It’s supposed to be a duology. The first book is all about my mc and how they change over the course of the book, but I wanted to introduce a love interest in my second book, and by adding this, it would allow me to get my desired ending for my duology. Obviously, my second book wouldn’t be all about romance, but would adding this love interest throw some people off? I was curious.

Agree. It'll give the second book a different angle than the first.
