    Question [Solved] edit-button?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by Lifeline, Nov 28, 2015.

    Hi there,

maybe I am just dense but sometimes there is a little button at the bottom of my post which says 'Edit' and sometimes there isn't. I have tried to find information with the Search Function, but I am either unable or all of you others know something which I don't because no one has ever asked so far as I have been able to see.

This is really a trival question but it naggs me on and off...

Just now there was an edit-button. I was going to say "Looking forward to enlightment.."

The edit function in forum posts is linked to your longevity and activity with the forum. For newcomers, the edit button remains available for only a certain amount of time (not exactly sure how long) and the span of time lengthens as you progress through New Member, Member, Senior Member, and so on. It eventually remains completely available.

    Thanks for replying :)

I will compose myself in patience then (not that I need that button desperately!).

Trust me, I know the feeling only too well. :agreed: You come back to a post and either wish to reword something or you see a mistake, but nooooooo, too late, someone has already "quoted" your post, immortalizing your goof. :bigfrown:

The equivalent to "Think before you write" then ;)

Just to make it clear to others:

I found out that the edit-button is there for 'Members' for 30 minutes after a post is done. So within that time limit, when your post has not been cited you are in the clear for making it memorable for eternity (or the www as warranted) ;)
