Novel How long is your novel?

    Maybe 596,000 was the abridged version for readers with short attention spans.

    just don't let way-short/long word counts of successful novels lead you to think you can do the same, since most, if not all, will have been written by established authors and/or were published in a past era, when publishers weren't quite as nit-picky as they are today...

    Yeah, Stephen King would never get away with it if he wasn't one of the most successful writers today and people weren't flocking to stores to by his most recent work.

    My current WIP is about 11K right now, and I'm aiming for it to be about 120K by the end of it.
