How long before sending a follow-up email to a publisher who requested a full? So on May 3 of this year, I sent a query to a small horror publisher with my manuscript query and something like three chapters. A few hours later I got an email from one of the editors requesting a full manuscript. I formatted it according to how they request and sent it on its way a few hours after the request. I never got a confirmation that they received it (is that normal?) Now it's almost August, and I'm wondering whether I can send a follow-up email asking about the status of my manuscript. Obviously, I don't want to ruin my chances by being too pushy... but I'm getting a little worried. What should I do? If I do send an email, how should it be worded. Thanks in advance!
it can often take several months... but i don't see why an email would hurt at this point... or you could call them to say you just wanted to make sure they got it and ask politely how long it will be before you get a decision...
