How to describe a deerlike satyr

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by DarkPen14, Sep 10, 2019.

I have a character who is a kind of satyr that resembles a deer more than a goat. Antlers, spots, whole nine yards.
The problem I'm running into, is that I'm not sure what terms you'd use to describe such a satyr's legs. I was thinking dainty, because a deer's legs are certainly slender, but that just feels off

"The satyrs legs were deer like" performs that task admirably - sometimes over thinking is your enemy

"Elaphine" is the word for it, I think.

I thought it was Cephine - it probably depends what type of deer

Rudolf stood proud. His gangly legs not doing justice to the button antlers now sprouting on his head. The white spots of his furry body stood in contrast to his brown coat. Although the other satyrs would not let him play their satyr games he did not care. His mother told him his spotty complexion would clear up when he got older. She was talking about puberty or something...

Oh, my bad I thought you wanted satire not satyr.

The legs of this mighty creature were both sturdy and nimble. They had the ability to run you down or jump over you depending on its preference at the time. I think it would be helpful to know its size and if its sentient or not. How old is it? is it meant for battle or to guide someone?

I describe deer legs as "slim," if that helps? And occasionally as delicate or bony, depending on the mood of the moment. Is it an evil satyr? For that I might describe the creature this way: "a man's torso horrifically incongruous atop a pair of twine-y, stamping doe's legs." Perhaps "stringy" works, too, considering it's actually a word, haha.

Your satyr would be more ninja-like than traditional satyrs. Deer are great at melting into the background when they detect a threat. They have an acute sense of smell and great eyesight and hearing, but not so good at climbing over rocky, steep terrain.

    Only young deer are spotted.
