Novel How to divide chapters in a multiple perspective novel?

Discussion in 'Genre Discussions' started by chaoserver, Dec 9, 2011.

I'm writing a piece with multiple perspectives. Is it best to just do numbered chapters? Or would borrowing Geaorge Martins method be kosher?

It's not really that important as long as it's clear whose POV it is, either by just pointing straight out that "character looked at that" or whatever, or by the location and other characters around them. After a while, the readers should be able to tell which character is which as well. I have an even larger cast of pov characters than Martin, and I use regular numbered chapters without any complaints from my few readers.
