    Weather in Michigan

Discussion in 'Research' started by Kylie, Aug 30, 2008.

I'm beginning to work on a new story. The story is set somewhere around Detroit, Michigan.
Does anybody know anything about the weather there around July???? For example- if it's usually rainy, cloudy, sunny, the temperature, etc.

    Anything will help!
    Thanks! :D

    Under there.
It's usually in the upper 70s or low 80s, and Detroit is near the lake, so you'll have some lake effect weather.

And also the pall of despair, of course. But that's year-round.

Good idea! Didn't think of that.
Well and I figured if someone here was from Detroit, it would be different. (shoulder shrug)

Michigan tends to also get lots of thunderstorms in summer. I'm in northern Michigan, nowhere near Detroit, but I'm near one of the Lakes and I figure they get the storms down there too. The storms seem to strike hardest around mid- to late summer so July would be typical. There's also lots of humidity up here so I figure it would be that way down there too, but it varies widely.

For example, where I am, there can be a difference of up to twenty degrees within a matter of days, even in the middle of summer. It's in the eighties here today (which means it's probably going to be warmer around Detroit, as southern Michigan is usually warmer than northern), but it's supposed to drop into the sixties in a few days. (I realize it's now September, but it does this in summer all the time!)
