    Question about 's

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by Aprella, Jun 24, 2013.

I feel a bit stupid for asking this, being an English student, but I'm in doubt:

A tale about wanderers: is "Wanders' tale" correct or "wanderers's tale"?

By your example, I see you want "wanderers" to be plural, so it's: Wanderers' Tale

Correct. The rule for plural possessives being different than that for singular terms or proper nouns that happen to end in s.

Okay thanks! I was doubting... which makes me very uncertain about things and I don't want to get this wrong!
